Dr. Dani working with postpartum women for return to exercise postpartum

Chiropractic | Rehab | Dry Needling

It’s Balance Chiro and Rehab because the REHAB is just as important as the adjustment (and sometimes more so).

Have you ever had a bunch of bodywork (adjusting, dry needling, massage, acupuncture, etc.) only to have the same problem just keep popping up? If so, it’s likely that you’re actually needing some strengthening and stability! Chiropractic adjustments are great, but combining it with fascial therapy, dry needling and rehab is even BETTER!

All that to say: obtain proper joint MOBILITY and then work to STABILIZE the appropriate areas to support the system.

Dr. Dani is an invaluable member of my care team. I have had various neck, back and jaw disfunction for 10 years, and Dani has proven time and again to know how to help me feel better where others have failed. I feel so lucky to work with her!

“Dani is just the best out there! As an athlete I am very careful who to trust to help with any issues my body has and Dani is great! Easy to schedule with, she does home visits and as an athlete herself she really understands the stress my body goes through and knows how to best help me! Would recommend 10/10!”

What do Chiropractic Adjustments Help With?

Chiropractic adjustments, dry needling and fascial therapy all help by creating mobility within a restricted joint and surrounding tissue which allows for easier and less painful range of motion. However, many times, corrective exercises are utilized to help “cue” up supporting musculature to help normalize firing patterns and decrease the likelihood that the problem continues. This is true for adults and babies (think torticollis). Chiropractic and exercise prescription can help decrease pain, prevent injury, improve the ability to move optimally, and improve the quality of life of both young and old!

“Dr. Dani is one of the best humans I’ve ever met. Oh and she’s an amazing doctor! I began seeing her several years into a recovery from a serious car crash, including mTBI and significant musculoskeletal injuries. She was the perfect addition to my medical team. She’s completely dedicated herself to my full recovery. With her expertise and treatment, I know I’ll be stronger than I was before the crash. She’s trustworthy, knowledgeable, sensitive, and fun!”

  • Quick answer? EVERYONE! Well, sort of. Dr. Dani believes in regular bodywork to help with muscle tension, imbalances, better functional movement, and overall self care. That being said, not EVERYONE needs be adjusted. Just because you go to a Chiropractor doesn’t mean you HAVE to be manually adjusted! There are other techniques such as craniosacral, myofascial work, dry needling, rehab exercises and so much more. If there’s a concern with hypermobility (those that are a little extra flexy) then some strengthening and gentle techniques are likely more appropriate for you! Finding a chiropractor that does a full, thorough evaluation and treats you as an INDIVIDUAL with unique concerns and needs is so important!

  • This is a VERY common question with a frustrating answer- it depends. Results can vary depending on the chronicity of the problem, whether or not you’re compliant with at-home care (you know who you are :P), if there’s an underlying condition causing the concern and soooo much more! However, Dr. Dani typically likes to see improvement or at least some level of change within the first few visits. If you have a specific question or concern you’re curious about, feel free to reach out!

  • Dr. Dani provides at-home exercises and mobility recommendations when appropriate to help you to care for yourself at home and decrease the number of visits necessary to achieve your care goal. Now, Dr. Dani will NEVER sign you up for a treatment plan or sell you on things you don’t really need, but she does love regular self care. “What regular” means is different for everyone. Some people (including Dr. Dani) prefer once a month, some prefer once a quarter and some just REALLY love getting more regular bodywork done. If there’s a major concern, Dr. Dani will make reasonable recommendations, but in the end, the frequency at which you are seen is totally up to you!

  • If there’s a concern that just keeps popping back up then the underlying problem likely isn’t being addressed. If you have a constant problem with mid back pain, but you’re foam rolling it every other day and that pain just keeps at it… there’s likely a problem somewhere else. It could be your core stability, something going on in the shoulder or even in the feet!

  • Check out the New Patient Page for specifics on cost! Dr. Dani offers concierge, in-home care to make care convenient, but also strives for affordability. She offers discounts for families, pregnancy packages and more. Please feel free to reach out with any questions!

  • Do you have stress? Do you keep tiny humans alive? Dooooo you move your body throughout the day or sit at a computer for the majority of it? All of these are reasons to get adjusted! Chiropractic is great for acute issues, but Chiropractic and bodywork are also great for self care, overall wellness and feeling like you are performing at your best! If you have optimal mobility, you’re functionally moving well (and without aches and pains), and imbalances are being addressed on a regular basis, then you’re on the right track to a much more fulfilling and comfortable lifestyle! After being treated, many of Dr. Dani’s patients report that it should be a standard of care to have regular bodywork throughout pregnancy and postpartum. There’s so much that can be done to help with not only bodywork, but exercise education and modifications during this period!

“Dani is a wonderful chiropractor and also human - it is evident she sincerely loves to help you work through pain and help to strengthen your body (and mental clarity!).. everyone should get adjusted by her. Seriously. All around gem of a human and will make you feel amazing in all the ways.”

  • When you think of adjusting you are typically thinking of this technique. This is what is used to “manually manipulate the joints.” This technique uses a high velocity, low amplitude thrust to help mobilize a specific joint.

  • Thompson Drop is a technique in which the table itself (believe it or not) drops. There are specific pieces within the table that lightly “give” below the patient such as in the mid-back or hip area. These drops help us to apply the same force as we normally would, but with less discomfort due to the “give” within the table. This is especially wonderful for pregnancy adjusting!

  • Dr. Dani uses the activator (a low force adjusting tool) specifically for those who do not like the traditional “pops and clicks” as well as for areas that are uncomfortable to manually adjust such as the pubic bone or for cases where manual adjusting is contraindicated. She is NOT an Activator Method Doctor and uses this only as a supplementary tool.

  • This technique is one part of the Webster Technique for pregnancy and is also commonly used during pediatric adjustments. This technique focuses on the sacrotuberous ligament. This is helpful during pregnancy due to the direct effect it can have on the pelvic floor and sacral areas. It is helpful for the littles for issues such as constipation!

Check out Webster Technique for more info or this blog for babies!

  • Rock tape can be very helpful in providing sensory input to help “que” muscles. This can be helpful for many pregnancy aches and pains including those from a growing belly! It is also EXTREMELY helpful in increasing lymphatic drainage in an area- bruising, sprains/strains, etc.

Treatment Techniques:

  • Cranial work can make a HUGE difference for those with tongue tie, TMJ concerns, sinus concerns, headaches, difficulties latching/feeding and so much more. This is a VERY gentle technique performed by hand.

Check out the Tongue Tie page for more info!

  • Webster Technique is commonly used to help reduce tension on the pelvis and structures that have an effect on tension within the uterus. This has been shown to help with breech, posterior and transverse presentations. It is important to note that we work with the pelvis and surrounding tissues to help aid in presentation and labor times.

  • Dry needling can be used to help with pain, decreased range of motion/ function, trigger points and so much more. Combined with adjusting and rehab exercises it’s GREAT for pregnancy, postpartum or just general day to day concerns!

  • Chiropractic care is great. What’s even more great? Rehab AND Chiro care! Rehab is an important component in addressing the underlying causes of aches, pains, changes in range of motion or even performance concerns. Constantly stretching the same thing? Just because something is tight doesn’t mean it needs to be stretched. Sometimes, it’s actually strengthening and stability that is needed!

  • Dr. Dani is a big believer in working on the body as a WHOLE. This means utilizing chiropractic (when appropriate), but also looking at the supporting musculature & fascia to help reduce tension, increase mobility or assess if more stability is needed through prescribed exercises.
